Understanding your result

How units are calculated

Units = strength (ABV %) × volume (ml) ÷ 1000

So a pint of 5% beer is 5 × 568 ÷ 1000 = 2.8 units. The UK Chief Medical Officers advise not regularly drinking more than 14 units a week, spread over three or more days, with several drink-free days.
